If we replace the particle board flooring, then existing floor joists will be nogged at .400ctrs to form a grid pattern. This is because timber moves with dampness, swelling and then shrinking as it dries.
By forming this grid, the H3.2 tanilised plywood or compressed sheet can be glued and screwed to these joists and nogs to form a rigid brace. This will reduce movement and in turn help prevent the waterproof membrane applied to the floor from splitting or cracking through movement. This ensures the waterproofing does its job.
Solid tongue and groove flooring as you would see in villas and bungalows can still be used but will require a minimum of three coats of polyurethane applied as a waterproof membrane.
Next is waterproofing. We offer a 5 year workmanship warranty and a 15 year product warranty.
Gib-stopping is next. This prepares the surfaces for painting and tiling etc.
A tiler is then engaged and tiling is carried out. If underfloor heating is required this is carried out prior to tiling. Underfloor heating comes with a lifetime undertile warranty and a 5 year warranty on thermostat controls.
Once tiling is completed, the plumber and electrician can come back and finish the final fit of fixtures and fittings.
Glass shower doors or screens can be installed. If a cubicle shower with an acrylic liner is being used, these can be installed prior to tiling.
